Our Services
Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) is the trading arm of The Salvation Army
Actively working to support organisations reduce their carbon footprint and combat climate change. Through our reuse and recycling schemes, we lessen the impact on overflowing landfill sites by extending the useful life of products and minimising waste. Each year, SATCoL diverts millions of items to good uses, including the reuse and recycling of over 77,000 tonnes of textiles.
In addition to this, SATCoL’s investment in modern processing centres and new technology means they can offer new ways of reusing and recycling textiles on a commercial scale, never seen in the UK such as, Project Re:claim.
Project Re:claim is the UK’s first commercially operational polyester recycling plant, designed to transform post-consumer and post-industrial textiles into high-quality rPET pellets. The joint venture between The Salvation Army and sustainability innovators Project Plan B is redefining textile recycling and advancing the circular economy. The project demonstrates how collaboration between charity and enterprise can drive real change and is a blueprint for the future, inspiring innovation and setting new standards for circular textile solutions both in the UK and globally.
With the support of the British public, SATCoL has donated millions of pounds to The Salvation Army to help its work with vulnerable people in the UK. The Salvation Army provide practical help for people in need, such as specialist support for survivors and potential victims of modern slavery, shelter for those experiencing homelessness and so much more.
